Environments

UPG provides separate environments to support development and live transaction processing. API consumers must use the appropriate environment based on the integration stage and operational readiness.

Production Environment​

The production environment is intended for live payment processing after the merchant has completed all required onboarding and approval steps.

  • All requests sent in the production environment will result in actual wallet deductions and service settlements.
  • Production access is granted only after successful technical onboarding, compliance verification, and formal approval by UPG.
  • The production base URL will be provided through email communication.

Development (Sandbox/Testing) Environment​

The development or sandbox environment is provided for integration testing and validation. It allows API consumers to test authentication, request and response structures, transaction flows, validation logic, and error handling without affecting real wallet balances or financial records.

  • Transactions processed in the sandbox environment do not result in actual fund movement.
  • The sandbox behavior closely mirrors the production environment, although some service responses and limits may differ.
  • API consumers are required to complete all functional testing in the sandbox environment before requesting production access.
